20 Years Of Criminal Defense Experience

I have spent my entire career taking on difficult criminal defense cases. As one of the few attorneys certified to handle capital offenses cases with the potential for the death penalty, I have the skills, knowledge and experience to go up against the prosecution and fight for my clients.

Everyone deserves an advocate who will protect their rights and defend their freedom from prosecution, especially when their life is at stake. At my office, you can rest assured that I will work diligently with you to reduce or eliminate the charges you are facing and help you get back to your normal life.

I Have Honed My Skills Through Dozens Of High-Stakes Trials

Success Stories

State v. C.S. (Manatee County Circuit Court)

Second Degree Murder (Life Felony); following investigation and negotiations in the case, secured a sentencing range of 25 years (minimum mandatory for use of a firearm resulting in death) up to 45 years. Client was facing a life without parole sentence if convicted after trial.

State v. C.R. (Hillsborough County Circuit Court)

Extortion (second degree felony) – Client was arrested and accused of Extortion which is not a charge we commonly see. Working diligently and closely with the client, I prepared a memorandum that outlined the facts of the case from our perspective, the investigation that had been done on behalf of the client, along with mitigation and personal information. After multiple submissions of information to the prosecutor, as well as phone calls outlining our request, I was able to successfully convince the State of Florida to issue a No Information and the case was not further prosecuted. The client was facing 15 years in prison if charged and convicted.

State v. M.S. (Pinellas County Court)

Battery; explored all facts of the case including reviewing reports and video interviews; located additional potential witnesses and interviewed them, ultimately listing them as defense witnesses and setting the case for jury trial. The State of Florida was seeking a jail sentence as a pretrial offer in this case. When the client and I expressed that he wished to decline any offers as he was not guilty, and that we would proceed to trial, the case was dismissed a few days prior to the scheduled jury trial date.

Experienced. Driven. Effective.

Over the course of my career, I have led more than 80 cases to trial for my clients. While most attorneys seek a plea deal, I am not afraid to go before a jury and argue the merits of the case. With my certification to handle capital crimes with the possibility of the death penalty, I can handle any criminal trial no matter the complexity.

My record of success has also allowed me expand my career in other areas. I previously served as a legal commentator on Court TV, sharing my insights of the law for viewers in difficult and serious cases.
